Figure Al Fresco

Challenge your artistic skills by drawing the human figure. Each week a model will strike both long and short poses for participants to draw. Artists/educators will offer constructive suggestions and critique.  All drawing materials are supplied.

This class takes place in South Cove near Battery Place & Second Place and is for adult participants (age 18 and up).

Elements of Nature Drawing

Get inspired by the beautiful expanse of the Hudson River & New York Harbor and by the verdant Wagner Park, with its very special Hot and Cool gardens; each flower-filled and colorful throughout the season. All art materials are provided by Battery Park City Parks.  Participants can practice already known techniques or try new ones using watercolors, pastels, colored pencils, and other media. An artist/educator will offer ideas, instructions, and critiques regarding technique.

Meets in Wagner Park, near the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Please note that this program is for adult participants (age 18 and up).

Drawing in the Park

Paint in watercolor, or use pastels, chalk, and charcoal to capture the magical vistas of the Hudson River and the unique landscape of the South Cove. An artist/educator will help participants of all levels with instruction and critique. Art materials provided.

Tai Chi

Improve balance, strength and focus through gentle exercises. The sights and sounds of the river provide a serene background for the ancient flowing postures.  Tai Chi results in strength and focus of body and mind. An ideal choice for participants of all ages. Instructor: Alex Hing
