Join experienced anglers for catch-and release fishing and learn about life in the Hudson River. The day also features an art project and a nature walk. Don’t miss an unforgettable performance sung in Spanish and English by Sonia De Los Santos and her band! Plus: BPCA’s Zero Waste Committee will be on hand to share their exciting initiatives in environmental responsibility.

Join us for an autumn celebration of intricately woven harmonies along the Hudson River. Get inspired by the vocal stylings of the finest college a cappella groups in the Northeast. Six ensembles will showcase their pitch-perfect vocal renditions from a diverse mix of musical genres. Bring a blanket, a picnic lunch and enjoy the music with New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty as backdrop!

Family Dance: AFRO-SOCA

Join Kwabs Dance Company and award winning dancer/choreographer Kwabena Safo-Agyekum for a high energy celebration of Afro-Soca. This colorful and rhythmic experience fuses together the music and dance of Soca, Dancehall, Afrobeats, and Hip-Hop with central African movement and Caribbean traditional dance. Enjoy a live performance of Carnival classics and favorite tunes of the 2019 Soca playlist.

 

LEADLIGHTS

Leadlights is a collective of NYC string players who are passionate about sharing both contemporary and classical music with diverse communities through interactive performances and workshops. The talented quartet, comprised of accomplished soloists who have performed at concert halls worldwide, perform a playful program with selections by Debussy, Ravel, Schubert, and NYC composer Jessie Montgomery.
