PUBLIC ART & GARDEN TOUR: BPC LANDSCAPE AS ART

Join Landscape Architect and Horticulturist Nancy Seaton for a thought-provoking tour investigating how landscapes are often the receptacle of art– the context within which sculpture is placed. Explore how the landscapes of Battery Park City is the art, in places such as South Cove and Teardrop Park. Discuss how basic principles of design and conceptual thinking transcend media, and the phenomenal elements that are especially well expressed through landscape.

Gain new perspectives with visits to our neighborhood museums and institutions. In-studio and outdoor sessions in drawing, painting, ceramic sculpture and printmaking will be led by professional artists. We will collaborate on group pieces and create individual work for culminating art shows.
